In a statement released through Amanda Bynes' laywer, Bynes' parents have spoken out about their decision to move their daughter from UCLA Medical Center to the celebrity-frequented Canyons rehab center in Malibu three weeks ago—which is said to not have any psychiatric facilities.

"Amanda was stuck with people in much worse condition than her.  She was scared, afraid and did not leave her immediate room area," Bynes' lawyer, Tamar Arminak, told TMZ. "She is getting specialized psych care, one on one treatment, not drug rehab."

According to a source, at the rehab center, Amanda is making "great strides towards recovery." A report that just ran on the sometimes reliable gossip site, Radar, says that Bynes may have been diagnosed with both schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.

As previously reported, Bynes is currently under an LPS hold that grants her doctors more control over how long she'll be under psychiatric hold, and her mother holds the power to make both health and financial decisions about her daughter—a power she exercised by moving Amanda to the rehab facility.
