Non-linear adventure games in the vein of Symphony of the Night and Super Metroid have become a bit more common in the age of Kickstarter, but even so, Blood Alloy seems especially cool.
From the gameplay seen in this clip, we can tell it adds a strange, almost Strider-esque level of acrobatics into what otherwise looks like a cyberpunk Metroid, which would be cool enough if it weren’t also a member of the aforementioned non-linear adventure genre. (Plus visually it’s like they took Sierra’s old point-and-click engine and repurposed it for an action game.)
Also, any team that notes Vanquish as a development inspiration (I personally find the Dark Souls comparison a little suspect, but whatever) is ok in my book.
