Police in Detroit have begun the hunt for a suspect who allegedly beat and burned a woman whose body was found in Detroit this weekend. The victim was discovered dead inside of her home on the west side of Detroit, prompting police to consider the possibility of a serial attacker. This is the third such incident to occur in Detroit since Jul. 26.

The first victim, a 37-year-old woman, was found beneath a couch in a field after being attacked and set on fire. She survived, but within 24 hours, another woman was found assaulted, burned and possibly sexually abused near a van that had also been set on fire about a mile away from the first crime. All three victims were prostitutes.

Detroit police are asking anyone with any information to call the department at 313-596-5240 or 313-596-1950. You can also send tips to Crime Stoppers (1-800-SPEAK-UP).
