Samsung is Officially Unveiling Their New Galaxy Gear Smartwatch on Sept. 4

iWatch? Why wait?

Samsung is officially beating their archrival, Apple, to the smartwatch market.

Samsung Mobile executive vice president, Lee Young-hee, has confirmed that the company will be unveiling the smartwatch during their Sept. 4th event. Details on the smartwatch, dubbed the Galaxy Gear, are slim-to-none, but there's a rumor that the watch will include a camera integrated into the wrist strap. Lee has confirmed that the screen will be non-flexible, though, so expect a flat surface. Lee called the Galaxy Gear a "concept device," so we don't know if it will indeed be available to the mass market—Samsung might simply be watching how much hype for the product builds once it's announced.

That's not all for Sept. 4th—Samsung won't just be unveiling just the Galaxy Gear, but the Galaxy Note III as well. As for this device, there are a little more details: the Note III will have a 5.6 inch 1080p display, 3GB of RAM, a 13MP camera, and will be powered by Snapdragon 800. Here is a leaked photo of the device below:
