How does this happen so often?

On Jul. 5, police were drawn to a Florham Park home after receiving a call where a man can be heard talking about marijuana. Since someone had made it very easy for them, Officers Brian Mensing and Kevin Langereis visited the home and claim they heard 22-year-old Andrew Macfarlane say "the cops are here." They also reported seeing Macfarlane remove items from a table while walking towards the home's rear.

After officers continued to knock on the door, Macfarlane finally answered and allowed them to enter. He explained that he had accidentally butt-dialled 911. Officers say they saw marijuana residue on a table, and further investigation revealed what Macfarlane removed earlier: A small bag of what's assumed to be marijuana, a grinder and a pipe.

Macfarlane was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
