Last night, an FBI agent fatally shot a man during questioning about his ties to Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the Boston Marathon bombings suspect who was killed in a shootout with police last month. The FBI was interviewing Ibragim Todashev because he and Tsarnaev had spoken to each other prior to the bombings, and Todashev planned to travel from his Orlando, FL home to Boston meet Tsarnaev. They also say he planned to visit Chechnya.
The interview, which took place at Todashev's apartment, quickly escalated when he attacked an agent just after midnight. The FBI agent reportedly shot and killed Todashev in self defense. FBI Special Agent Dave Couvertier told NBC News: “We do not have any further details at this time. We expect to have more information later this morning.”
