Today in weird and surprising news: Deadline is reporting that Safety Not Guaranteed director Colin Trevorrow will be making the jump from quirky indie movies to big budget action movies featuring gigantic dinosaurs this year when he helms the upcoming Jurassic Park 4 film. Steven Spielberg - who directed the first two Jurassic Park films, of course - is still staying on this project to executive produce.

It's a strange fit, but OK, we can get behind it. Really, what's stranger is actually the way Trevorrow got the job: Apparently, he met with the studio and filmmakers, and they felt he was a good match because he'd grown up watching the franchise and told them he was a huge fan of the movies. Jobseekers everywhere: Here's a new method to make employers hire you.
