Californian Democrat and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has finally put into words what most of us have been thinking throughout this entire debate.

Coming right out and saying that violent media, and video game specifically, are not at the heart of the gun crime epidemic here in the US.

“The evidence says that, in Japan, for example, they have the most violent games and the lowest death – mortality – from guns,” Pelosi said during FOX News Sunday.

“I don’t know what the explanation is for that except they may have good gun laws.”

Japan is often pointed to when speaking about the correlation between gun violence and and video games. Japan has some of the strictest gun laws anywhere on the planet and gets some of the most violent video games ever developed. Check the last time Japan had a mass shooting, or any report of gun violence. We'll wait here.

That's right, practically never. Pelosi points to how countries with the largest video game markets often correlate with very low gun crime rates. We here in the states are, naturally, the exception to this statistic. Tell us what you think. Let us know if this is something that you agree with.
