The folks at 20th Century Fox have their work cut out for them if they want The Wolverine to rival Marvel’s upcoming slate of comic book movies, like Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World. But, so far, everything we’ve heard about Logan’s latest on-screen adventure has given us hope that the studio won’t repeat the same mistakes it made with X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
The addition of James Mangold (3:10 To Yuma) as director was a brilliant choice, and the decision to move the film’s plot to Japan, where the character’s best comic book moments have happened, further drives the point home that the folks behind The Wolverine are giving it all they’ve got. And in the latest issue of Empire, we’re treated to a new picture of Hugh Jackman as the titular clawed-mutant wearing a different type of suit than we’re used to from the comics.
