Emma Bartelt is definitely her father's daughter.

The 10-year-old Bartelt, whose father is a narc for the Miami-Dade Police Department, took home the blue ribbon at her school's science fair after crafting a project that tested police dog's ability to detect cocaine. The three dogs—a golden retriever, a chocolate lab and a springer spaniel—were each timed as Bartelt recorded how long it took them to find an ounce of coke hidden in two different rooms.

For the record, the chocolate lab was the fastest, discovering the cocaine in just 43 seconds.

Don't worry, Bartelt never actually handled the coke; that task was performed by her proud father, Det. Douglas Bartelt, and two cops in his bureau. In addition to winning the prize at Coral Gables Preparatory Academy, Bartelt also received an honorable mention at a county-wide fair over the weekend.

The school district had no problem with the project, and Bartelt said the experiment was her idea, because she "wanted to do her [father's] job." Just call her Little Miss CSI.
