Can we all agree that wireless charging needs to happen ASAP? After all, who likes carrying around their charger everywhere they go? Or, do you like the feeling of emptiness that washes over you when you realize that you've forgotten your charger? Of course not! Now, before you dismiss Apple's attempt as being just another Lumia 920 rip-off, think again.

In the patent filed by Apple, the company claims they will "utilize a near-field magnetic resonance (NFMR) power supply to deliver juice to nearby devices that have an NFMR resonator circuit within." This approach would create a “virtual charging area” within about a yard of this power supply, which would thereby charge your device.

Does this all sound too good to be true or just a step in the right direction towards actual wireless charging?
