Considering that the film has already broken records in other parts of Europe, this news comes as no surprise. According to Deadline, the most recent installment in the James Bond film, Skyfall, has become the UK's highest-grossing film of 2012 with $91.07 million earned - an amount that has it surpassing the record previously set by The Dark Knight Rises last summer. It has also been named the biggest Bond film of all time in the UK, outperforming the first Daniel Craig-starring Bond flick, Casino Royale, which earned $88.8 million when it was released in 2006.

As for the US, the film is set to open for IMAX screens in North America today, with wide release screenings beginning tomorrow, November 9th.
