That previously reportedBeverly Hills Cop sequel series in development at CBS is moving forward. According to Deadline, Tropic Thunder star Brandon T. Jackson has been cast as the lead in the series, which will be produced by the original films' star, Eddie Murphy, and The Shield creator Shawn Ryan

There still isn't much information about the series available yet, apart from the fact that it will take place years after the films, and will follow Axel Foley's son, Aaron, a blue-collar policeman in Los Angeles "who helps take down the criminal elements of the rich and famous in Beverly Hills while trying to escape the shadow of his larger-than-life father."

Murphy himself is said to have suggested Jackson for the role of Aaron, as he's a fan of Jackson's stand-up comedy.
