Smartphones are getting smarter and more powerful by the minute, but touch screen controls pretty much still suck. There are plenty of solutions, though, and one new Android app—Sixaxis Controller—lets you connect a PS3 controller to your Android handset to use for controlling games.

Apparently it's advanced enough that you can even map certain areas of the touch screen to buttons on the controller. Unfortunately, it's not easy to set up, even requiring root access to your device.

So obviously, it's not for everyone. Of course, if you don't even know what root access is, you can always just use a Wii Remote instead. That's much easier, and the functionality has been around for a while.

How do you play games on your phone? Do you just deal with the touch screen, or do you have an alternative solution?
