Ron Wallace of Rhode Island set a new Guinness World Record for the heaviest pumpkin and won $15,500 for a beastly pumpkin that weighed 2,009 pounds. At the New England Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off, Wallace won $5,500 for claiming first place, then got a $10,000 bonus for having a pumpkin that weighed more than a ton. Wallace smashed the previous record, held by Chris Stevens' 1810.5-pound pumpkin.
