Murphy's Law hit Jason Cantrell at the worst possible time. A joint fell out of the 43-year-old New Orleans assistant city attorney's pocket in Orleans Parish magistrate court right in front of police. Cantrell was arrested and issued a summons for marijuana possession, and a spokesman for New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu said that he will be suspended without pay as the investigation continues.

In addition to fucking up his career, this incident is sure to cause trouble at home, as Cantrell's wife is currently a candidate for New Orleans City Council. On her Facebook page, LaToya Cantrell wrote that she "absolutely" did not condone her husbands actions, and was "angry, embarrassed, and disappointed." She said that Cantrell had resigned, but a spokesman for Mayor Landrieu said that no letter of resignation has been received.

Cantrell has been with the city since 2009 and has practiced law in Louisiana for 16 years. We can't help but wonder if he's a Curren$y fan.
