The highly anticipated two-part Hunger Games film, Mockingjay, has its writer. According to Vulture, Emmy winner and the dude who played the geekiest in one-third of "The Trio" on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Danny Strong, has been tapped to pen the films, which are the third and fourth in the franchise.

Strong recently won an Emmy for penning the Julianne Moore-starring HBO film Game Change, and he previously was nominated for writing the HBO political film Recount. Additionally, he co-wrote the upcoming Lee Daniels film The Butler. All this from Buffy's Jonathan? Have weirder things happened?
