A 19-year-old girl in Indore, India had a four-pound hairball removed from her stomach recently, but no, she didn't eat a small mammal. The girl was taken to Maharaja Yeshwantrao Hospital in Indore last month after complaining about not having been able to eat or drink for days. That's when doctors discovered the massive ball of hair lodged between her stomach and small intestine.
The girl had a nasty habit of eating her hair (and chalk) while in class, which caused an internal traffic jam. A team of gastro-surgeons led by Dr. Parvinder Singh Lubana were able to remove the abominable hairball from her stomach. Hopefully, she'll stick to standard foods from now on.
