54-year-old Michael Selleneit shot his neighbor in Centerville, UT because he was convinced that the man had "telepathically raped" his wife. Selleneit also believes that Eddie Vedder visits him "in his mind," so there goes his credibility. Selleneit claims he was acting in self-defense when he shot 41-year-old Tony Pierce, saying that the man has "telepathically" threatened him and raped his wife's mind on multiple occasions.

Sellenit also apparently believes that Pierce had crack cocaine-fueled "sex parties" with his wife with him in the room, claiming that Pierce used telepathy to tell him "We're having a sex party tonight. There will be cocaine. If you don't come, I'll kill you." According to Selleneit's lawyer, Julie George, he suffered a brain injury in a car crash as a teen and has had delusions about violence since the late '90s. Court documents show that Selleneit is mentally ill, and will be so for the rest of his life.

Selleneit has been charged for attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm. His wife has also been charged for illegally purchasing the weapon.
