Judging by early box office reports, things are looking good for Resident Evil: Retribution. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film has already raked in about $665,000 from just midnight showings alone, and judging by this, Sony is predicting an opening weekend somewhere in the range of $20 million. The film is already doing better than it's predecessor, Resident Evil: Afterlife, which earned $625,000 in midnight showings when it was released in 2010.
Also hitting theaters this weekend is a very different film - Finding Nemo, which is being rereleased by Disney in 3D, and is expected to do well, with the LA Times reporting predictions that ticket sales will be somewhere around $30 million.
