A Florida mother and son face several charges after allegedly robbing and brutally beating a man that the woman met through a dating website. 40-year-old Bobbie Jo Curtis and 16-year-old Bryan Curtis, with the help of accomplice Vanessa Musson, tied a 44-year-old man to a chair at his Moon Lake Estates home and beat him with a hammer and baseball bat. Curtis met the man at Singles.com, and after just a week, he opened his home to her and her son.

During the attack, the Curtises and their accomplice forced the man to give up the combination to his safe and the PIN number to his bank account. They took several items from his home, including multiple guns. A 69-year-old neighbor became suspicious after seeing the trio loading up the man's vehicle. Soon after, the neighbor was also struck in the head with a baseball bat while trying to check on the man. By the time police arrived, the robbers had escaped.

The Curtises were traced to a hotel in New Port Richey, where they were arrested. Both were charged with attempted murder, unlawful imprisonment, aggravated battery, and grand theft auto.  Bryan Curtis will be tried as an adult. This is the 14th time Bobbie Jo Curtis has been arrested in the past 11 years for similar crimes.
