Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban are close to finalizing deals to appear as judges on the next season of American Idol, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Per their contracts, Minaj would receive $8 million for appearing on the show, and Urban around $3 or $4 million - far cries from their fellow newcomer judge Mariah Carey's salary, which has been reported to be about $18 million.
Reportedly, Minaj's deal is expected to be closed as soon as today, or early next week. As for Urban - who has previously judged the Australian version of rival singing competition The Voice - he has agreed to join the show, but is still in final discussions.
