Mariah Carey is no stranger to public meltdowns. Except back when she became infamous for it, these things took place on television. Now, celebrities self-destruct in private and share it with the world via social media.
Anyone who's been paying attention to Rihanna's Twitter feed over the past few months has been privy to what appears to be her growing discontent with... everything. And according to a report in Star, she's headed to rehab soon.
That's where Mariah steps in.
"Mariah has decided to swoop in and rescue the Barbadian beauty before she self-destructs," a source told the magazine. "She sees a lot of herself in Rihanna and wants to protect her."
The source says that Mariah is trying to get Rihanna to stop partying and has even suggested she move in with her. Mariah also wants to collaborate with her on some music, too. A rep for Mariah says "there is no truth" to the story, but we have our doubts about that.
MC is literally ice cold right now— her new single, "Triumphant," featuring Rick Ross and Meek Mill, which leaked last week, was met with shrugged shoulders— so we could see her looking to pair with Rihanna to get hot again.
That would be kind of devious, but stranger things have happened. This is the music business, after all.
