You shouldn't drink and drive, but you definitely shouldn't drink and drive through a sobriety check point. The idiot decision to drink a beer while maneuvering through a sobriety checkpoint is exactly what got David Caruso arrested in Connecticut. The 51-year-old Caruso—and no, not that David Caruso—was approaching the checkpoint when police officers immediately noticed that he was sipping on a beer.
To further complicate the situation, his license had been suspended from a previous drunk driving incident. He was charged with drinking while driving, illegal operation of a motor vehicle while under suspension and operating an unregistered motor vehicle. Quite the nasty mixture.
