Marvel fans can now breathe a sigh of relief because Deadline has just confirmed that 20th Century Fox has officially hired Josh Trank (Chronicle) to direct the reboot of Fantastic Four. The movie will be the next Marvel property that the studio puts outs after The Wolverine and the untitled X-Men: First Class sequel hit theaters over the next two years.

There have been rumors and reports floating around that Trank is also attached to a Shadow of the Colossus adaptation and a Venom movie at Sony, but the studio is apparently confident that Fantastic Four will be his next project. Featuring a brand-new cast and tone, this new take on the Marvel property will attempt to legitimize the franchise after two previous failed attempts.

Expect this Fantastic Four reboot to go into production in the very near future.
