This is tragically fucked up and cold've easily been avoided. 32-year-old Jamalh Nelson, a native of Gary, Ind., was charged with involuntary manslaughter and unlawful use of a weapon after firing his gun through the floor of his Chicago apartment and killing the man living beneath him back in November.

Nelson had been drinking when he discharged his weapon, striking 62-year-old Dewitt Wright once in the shoulder as he slept. Wright was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died on April 12. Nelson was reportedly playing with the gun when it fired. Alcohol and weapons can be a deadly duo, so it's safe to avoid that combination.
