Google Maps is a NYC commuter's best friend. We use it for directions and to find out when a certain trains will arrive (or, more realistically, around when certain trains will arrive), and now, thanks to an update, we'll be able to use it to find out what Subway trains and stations are experience delays and service issues.

Gizmodo is reporting that now when you click a station in Google Maps, "the information box that pops up will display detailed service advisories like the ones the MTA posts on its website and in stations. " The service issues will also be taken into consideration plotting directions. This should limit the amount of times you go to a station only to find out the train you need is not running.
