You know how your parents always checked your Halloween candy for sharp objects? Well, one grown woman in Santa Clara took a trip back in time when her curiosity about the new Jolly Rancher Crunch 'N Chew candies led to her discovery of a rusty three-inch blade inside the bag.
Eager to try them out, she says she ate two pieces, but found the menacing object while fishing for a third. She says she reached out to Santa Clara police, as well as Hershey, the company responsible for manufacturing Jolly Ranchers. She says they offered her three bags of candy to right the situation. She wasn't interested.
They also gave ABC7 a statement, which said that though "there was no injury," they still "take this situation seriously." How apologetic.
