Gamestop has announced that they will be hosting the first ever Gamestop Expo, a one-day game convention-style event at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas on August 29th.

The five-hour long show will give PowerUp Rewards members the chance to demo some yet-to-be-released games coming later in the year. Though no specific titles have been announced, Gamestop promises that Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony, Activision and EA will all have a presence at the show, along with "dozens" of developers ready to show their projects off to you, the gaming public.

Tickets for the show cost $35. There are also $100 VIP tickets, which allow for private demos of certain games and some extra swag. If you've been saving up those rewards points for something, now might be the time to cash in.

Of course, even if you grab the ticket for free, you still have to get to San Antonio, which could be problematic for some. Still, if any of you've been holding your breath, waiting for someone to host "PAX South" or something along those lines, this might be right up your alley.
