An article from the DC Examiner about race relations in American restaurants yielded a pretty American display of ignorance. Anyone who frequents blogs knows that comment sections can get quite indignant, and while absurd, this case is pretty much on par with where we as a society stand in terms of race relations.

The article highlighted a survey, submitted to The Journal Of Black Studies, which was ripe with controversy:

None

The comment section (click through for examples) reinforces the issues raised by the original article. It's not surprising to see the level of hatred still prevalent in the 21st century, but this is a rather obvious case of what happens when trolling goes wrong. The Internet breeds fake tough guys, so at what point does a moderator step in and regulate?

The comment in the last image was flagged, so what was said to finally warrant action? Looks like a situation has to get totally out of pocket for moves to be made, i.e. the American Way.
