Google X Labs director Sebastian Thrun wore the company's much-hyped Project Glass augmented reality glasses on Charlie Rose Wednesday, giving us the first video of the futuristic device actually functioning in the wild (or at least a TV studio).

During the interview, Thrun snapped a photo of Rose with the glasses and then shared it to Google+ merely by nodding his head (you can see the photo here). He said that he wears the glasses all the time now, and that they can be used to make calls and send/receive emails among other things.

Thrun also talked about his involvement with Google's equally futuristic self-driving car initiative. Watch the full video at Charlie Rose.
