Trailer Park: The International Teaser For “Cosmopolis” Is Pure Cronenberg Madness

After 2011's A Dangerous Method showed a kinder, gentler side of David Cronenberg, the director's ultra-violent and disturbing style is making a return in Cosmopolis, starring Robert Pattinson. Here, Pattinson plays a young millionaire named Eric Packer who makes a bizarre odyssey across Manhattan in order to get a haircut.

Of course, like in any Cronenberg film, this simple task makes a few pit stops along the way. We see quick flashes of some naked women, a strange scene where Pattinson apparently shoots himself in the hand, and what looks to be a gargantuan rat-like creature traveling through New York. We're really not sure what's going on here, but we're intrigued at the very least.

Pattinson looks ready to break free from the Twilight mold and the material itself looks to perfectly compliment Cronenberg's style. We would love to see more than what this international teaser shows off, but it looks like we'll have to wait until the film gets released some time in 2012 to get the whole picture.
