"Metroid Prime" Devs Offshoot Studio Armature Working On "Metal Gear Solid HD" For PS Vita

It's the first we've heard of Armature since 2008.

None

We sort of expected great things from Armature when staff members broke off from Metroid Prime devs Retro Studios to form the new company back in 2008, but oddly enough we haven't heard a peep out of them since. Apparently nothing tangible came of their partnership with EA, so what the hell have they been doing for the last three-plus years?

No idea, but as Joystiq points out, we know what they're doing now. Their name's been spotted on this Japanese site for the PS Vita version of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, which is also being worked on by Bluepoint Games. Bluepoint's handled a number of HD remakes for Sony, including the God of War and ICO/Shadow of the Colossus collections.

We're super curious why work from Armature has yet to show up before now, but we're also excited to get our hands on Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 (but not Peace Walker!) when the HD Collection comes out this summer. Did you already pick up MGS 3 on 3DS recently? Planning on getting the Collection? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter.
