If you've ever wondered whether or not President Barack Obama would make it past the audition stage of American Idol, thanks to his appearance at the Apollo Theater in Harlem last night, you may have your answer. 

President Obama took to the stage of he historic NYC theater for a fundraising appearance. During his speech, he commented that many great people had performed on the very stage he was standing, including singer Al Green

"To know that Reverend Al Green was here," he said, before pausing and singing a few lines of Green's 1972 hit, "Let's Stay Together." Green himself was actually in the audience that night to bear witness to this, so President Obama is pretty lucky he didn't suck.
