At a midnight showing of the found-footage horror movie, V/H/S, at the Sundance Film Festival, a member of the audience fainted during one of the film’s more gruesome sequences, according to Deadline. EMTs had to be called in, but the man turned out to be fine.
Despite his willingness to stay in the theater, the man was urged by his girlfriend to leave the screening. But that patron wasn’t the only victim of V/H/S’s intense gore because 20 minutes later another member of the audience had to be treated for nausea.
Directed by a group of filmmakers including Adam Wingard, David Bruckner, Ti West, Glenn McQuaid, Joe Swanberg, and Radio Silence, V/H/S is about a group of misfits who burglarize a house in search of a rare VHS. Each filmmaker will provide their own unique spin and perspective on the story, but it's not known who directed the portion of the movie that caused all of the hysteria.
