SEGA brand manager Ken Balough stopped by Gamespot's offices to reveal the first teaser for Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2, the big reveal being that the hedgehog's erstwhile sidekick, Tails, will be making a (hopefully) triumphant return. Of course, this was revealed by Balough's artfully shaped and colored beard before the video even played, but so what?

"We listened tremendously during [Sonic 4:Episode 1," Balough said. "There's going to be a lot of really positive changes and we think the fans are going to be really happy." He explained that they're trying to get closer in feel to oldschool Sonic games, despite employing new graphics and physics engines. For example, Sonic will no longer stick to walls or uncurl when going uphill.

"They may not sound like a big deal, but when you're playing Sonic and you're so used to the way the Genesis games felt, it's a big step to get closer to that Genesis feel," he said.

Looking forward to it or no? If it hasn't happened by now, the Sonic ship is probably never going to sink—but are you still on board? Let us know in the comments or on Facebook or Twitter.
