If the sad state of quality animated shows for adults has got you down recently, then we have some good news for you. Coming Soon is reporting that South Park has just been renewed through 2016, which would be the show's 20th season. That is putting the show near Simpsons territory in terms of staggering length for an animated program, and, of course, Trey Parker and Matt Stone will stay on as the main talent behind the show that they created in 1997.
After numerous Emmy Awards, great critical acclaim, and a ravenous fan base, South Park doesn't look like it's going anywhere anytime soon. We'll have at least another half decade of Parker and Stone taking shots at everything from politics and religion to movies and video games.
