Occupy Wall Street is Walking to Occupy D.C.

Occupy the Highway is officially underway.

None

At noon today, a group of Occupy Wall Street protesters began a journey to Occupy D.C., and they're travelling by foot. During this hike, which is appropriately titled Occupy the Highway, the faction will walk 20 miles a day and plans to arrive in D.C. by November 23. Why is the day before Thanksgiving so important? There's a congressional meeting on deficit reduction scheduled, and protesters don't want to miss it.

The journey will include eleven stops from Patterson, New Jersey to Laurel, MD before Occupy Wall Street joins their counterparts in the nation's capital. There are doubters of course, but demonstrators are hell bent on making the 240 mile trip. You can find the official route here, and this is the schedule of all planned stops.
