Haven't we been saying that video game sales will come roaring back this holiday season? Hot on the heels of the announcement that Skyrim is selling like hotcakes, Activision Blizzard has announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has shattered five-day worldwide sales records surpassing the $775 million mark. That eclipses revenues earned for any other entertainment medium including movies, books and other video games during the same time period. They beat their own previous record that they set last year with Black Ops ($650 million) and two years ago with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 ($550 million). Those figures are simply astonishing and now Activision Blizzard CEO, Bobby Kotick, can bathe in diamonds.
