In 2009, Tennessee lawmaker Curry Todd supported a law that would allow people to carry handguns in bars and restaurants. As long as they don’t drink. Well, last night Todd broke that law when he was arrested in Nashville and charged with DUI and possession of a handgun while under the influence.

Court documents reveal that Todd wreaked of alcohol when policed stopped his GMC Envoy. After failing a roadside sobriety test and refusing the Breathalyzer, a loaded .38-caliber gun was found lodged between the driver seat and center console. At least he kept it in the holster.

According to the police affidavit, Todd was “almost falling down at times.” Eventually, they decided he was very impaired and not in any condition to be carrying a loaded handgun.” Or driving.

Take a good look at this dude. His ass-backwards name is already pretty bad, but he looks like the type to say illegal immigrants “can go out there like rats and multiply” after learning that federal law requires the state to extend prenatal care to women even if they aren’t U.S. citizens.
