If you are currently looking for a reason to actually go see Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, then we have some pretty good news for you. /Film is currently reporting that Warner Brothers is going to attach a six-minute-long prologue for The Dark Knight Rises to every IMAX print of Ghost Protocol.

This news apparently comes from a theater exhibitor, so it’s not exactly money in the bank quite yet. But both films shot extensively in the IMAX format, so this is a great way to get a glimpse at one of the biggest comic book movies of all time in the format it was meant to be seen in. Warner Brothers did something similar when it attached the opening sequence of The Dark Knight to IMAX prints of I Am Legend back in 2007.

Even though The Dark Knight Rises and Ghost Protocol are being released by two different companies, the publicity is great for each film. It will be interesting to see just how many people will now see Tom Cruise’s fourth stab at the Mission: Impossible franchise just because of the sneak peek at The Dark Knight Rises.

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol is going to be released in IMAX theaters on December 16, a full five days before its general theater release.
