Even though his debut issue just came out this past Wednesday, George Perez is already done writing Superman after issue #7, according to Newsarama. DC Comics will be replacing Perez with longtime writer Keith Giffen, while Dan Jurgens will takeover the cover artist and art breakdown duties that Perez will leave behind.

This is DC’s third creative team change since it launched its “New 52” initiative a month ago. Both J.T. Krul and John Rozum left as the writers of Green Arrow and Static Shock, respectively. Krul was also replaced by Giffen.

In the case of Green Arrow and Static Shock, both of those writers left so quickly that it’s hard to imagine that it wasn't a result of the lackluster results on both books. But with Perez staying on until the seventh issue, it’s possible that he plans on at least pointing Superman in the right direction before he exits.
