YouTube Movie 'Life in a Day' Headed to Theaters

The film, produced by Ridley Scott, was shot by YouTube users.

Last year on July 24th, thousands of people from around the world filmed scenes of their lives and environment and uploaded them to YouTube as a part of the "Life in a Day" project. Backed by Ridley Scott and directed by Kevin Macdonald, the project sought to capture one day of life on Earth in documentary form. The result, a feature length film, screened in part on YouTube earlier this year and has been making the festival circuit.

This July 24th, on the first anniversary of the mass film exercise, you'll be able to see the documentary in theaters, thanks to distribution from National Geographic Entertainment. Check out the trailer above.
