In The Lincoln Lawyer, director Brad Furman's suspense-filled adaptation of Michael Connelly's 2005 novel, golden-haired Matthew McConaughey plays Mickey Haller, an ethically and morally questionable Los Angeles defense attorney who defends unsavory scumbags when not being chauffeured around town in his Lincoln sedan by a former client working off his debt. His client list appears to improve when a seemingly innocent Beverly Hills playboy (Ryan Phillippe), who is accused of rape and attempted murder, chooses Haller as his lawyer.
