"FIFA 11" Update Brings Fantasy Futbol To Your Console

Earlier today, Electronic Arts announced the first massive DLC update for FIFA 11 Ultimate Team, the mode within FIFA 11 that lets you mastermind a lineup to compete against your friends with. The new features include Play A Friend Challenges—where you can play a friend's squad even when they're offline—and Friends Leaderboards where you can you can take on your homies or compare progress whether you are a trader, expert team builder, or top entrepreneur in the auctions.

More 50 other improvements will also come in the update, based largely based on the bitching and moaning from the FIFA community. (But what else would you expect from soccer fans?) If taking your MMO fantasies to the sports world is your thing, then get ready for Feb. 17, when the update goes live. If not, you can always go head-to-head in a regular online match and trash-talk like the rest of us.
