Sort of an evil twin to Christopher Guest’s 2000 mockumentary Best in Show, this actual documentary has been tapped by some as the sleeper hit of San Francisco’sIndieFest this week. The premise is simple: Every summer, people with very ugly dogs enter them in the “World’s Ugliest Dog” competition in Petaluma, Ca. to see who has the truly homeliest one. And the competition is definitely heated, with a running head-to-head rivalry between two front-runners, Pabst and Rascal, the latter being a veteran of many an ugly dog contest. See for yourself who holds the ugly crown. —Finn Cohen
