Blazing Saddles: The 20 Hottest Women In Westerns

#20: VERA MILES AS LAURIE JORGENSEN IN THE SEARCHERS (1956)
John Wayne’s name is synonymous with the western genre, and The Searchers is perhaps the greatest of his cowboy flicks. Directed by the highly influential John Ford, it’s about a Civil War veteran’s search for his young niece after his family is murdered by Comanche Indians. Miles plays the fair-haired daughter of Wayne’s associate. It’s not a prominent role, but the classic screen queen does get to narrate a scene in which Wayne kills a dude. Homicide is strangely enjoyable when offset by such sweet twos, er, tones.
