Kevin Gates Teases First Solo Music Since Release from Prison

Gates just recently played his first shows since his release this January.

Kevin Gates was finally released from prison back in January, announcing his first live shows not long after getting out. Since his release, he's appeared here and there on a number of songs, most notably on Mistah F.A.B. and The Jacka's "Ridah," but until now he has been rather quiet on the solo material front. Thankfully, it looks like he's finally gearing up to release something new.

On his Instagram, Gates teased not just one, but three previously unheard songs.

Whether the new songs are from a new album or mixtape remain to be seen, but he seems to be having a lot of fun rapping along to the material.

He hasn't given anything in the way of a release date just yet, but considering how willing he is to share these snippets with his fans, it shouldn't be long until we hear the full songs.

Last year, Gates was given a 30-month sentence in an Illinois penitentiary after pleading guilty to a felony gun possession charge relating to an incident that took place in 2013. Early reports indicated that he wouldn't be released until June 2018, but he was given his parole five months earlier. He's currently under "mandatory supervision" and is forbidden from the possession of firearms.
