Timing is everything. Earlier today, Ivanka Trump posted a photo of herself and her child with the hashtag #SundayMorning.
The tweet was immediately met with responses referencing a recent report that Steven Wagner, acting assistant secretary for the Administration for Children and Families, revealed to a Senate subcommittee that the Office of Refugee Resettlement couldn’t account for nearly 1,500 immigrant children over the last three months. How could Ivanka proudly share a touching moment with her baby in light of news that her father’s administration essentially lost 1,500 kids pulled away from their parents? Halsey acknowledged the poor timing of her tweet, including a nice touch where she said, “Fuck your #SundayMorning."
Of course, Donald Trump has tried to blame anyone and everyone but himself and his administration since the news surfaced.
The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) called out Trump’s “fake news,” adding that “separating parents and children is your administration's choice."
