Cudder’s back.

After keeping a relatively low profile since late 2016, Kid Cudi unleashed a new solo record Thursday night titled “The Rage.” It’s a quintessential Cudi song complete a with spacey beat, existential lyrics, and the rapper’s signature hum—pretty much everything fans love.

Your boy best not slip, get stuck in your grave
Just to live another day, fighting through decay
Call on my angels and I kneel as I pray
Got my mind, my soul and my heart on the same wave
It took me a minute, now I’m all in it, damn
While I’m out of the dark, I push it to the limit, friend

The song will appear on the upcoming soundtrack for Rampage, the action-adventure flick directed by Brad Peyton and starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. According to Film Music Reporter, the album will consist of 24 tracks, including original music composed by Andrew Lockington (San Andreas, Journey to the Center of the Earth, and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters). A Redditor who claims to have seen the film says the new Cudi plays for the first part of the credits.

You can listen to “The Rage” now on Apple Music/iTunes or via Spotify below.

Cudi is also expected to release a new studio album later this year. In November 2017, sources said the project would be entirely produced by the rapper’s good friend and frequent collaborator Kanye West. "[Kanye West and Kid Cudi are] going to drop some crazy collaboration out of the blue,” an insider told Page Six. “They're going to drop some surprise project on everybody. They're recording it now. … Nobody knows what it is.”

In March, it was reported that Cudi was one of many musicians who had visited Ye in Jackson, Wyoming. It’s unclear what Yeezy's working on, but a source said he intends to drop something “very soon.”
